What size of lab is Calira suitable for?

Calira works for labs of all sizes, from a single team with a handful of instruments to multi-site enterprises managing hundreds of assets across departments and geographies.

Small and growing labs

Teams with 10–50 users and a modest number of shared instruments. At this size, Calira replaces the spreadsheet or shared calendar that’s starting to break down (and sometimes even pen-and-paper signup sheets). Setup takes a few days, and the lab manager can run it without dedicated IT support.

Mid-size labs

Labs with 50–200 users, multiple rooms, or several departments sharing the same equipment. Access groups, booking rules, and reporting become more important here. Calira handles multi-room and multi-department setups within a single account.

Multi-site enterprises

Organisations managing equipment across buildings, campuses, or countries. Calira supports multi-lab account hierarchies with centralised reporting and administration. Enterprise customers also get SAML SSO, ELN integrations, and API access.

Academic institutions

University departments, core facilities, and research institutes. Calira offers dedicated academic pricing (including a Core tier with unlimited users) and features for recharge billing, training compliance, and project-level tracking.

Shared labs

Shared labs and incubators managing multiple different tenants of different sizes, configurations, facility types, and equipment needs also use Calira to manage shared equipment.

Minimum size

Calira’s Premium and Enterprise plans start at 10 seats. There’s no upper limit.
