What does onboarding look like?

Calira is designed so a lab manager can set up and start using it without a lengthy implementation project or dedicated IT support.

Self-serve setup

Most labs handle onboarding themselves:

  1. Add equipment: individually or in bulk via CSV template.
  2. Invite users: by email or shareable link, assigned to roles and access groups.
  3. Set booking rules: configure who can book what, when, and for how long.
  4. Connect integrations: calendar sync, ELN integrations, and SSO if needed.

This typically takes a few days to a week, depending on the number of instruments and the complexity of your access rules, as well as the time you have available.

Enterprise onboarding

Enterprise customers get hands-on support from the Calira team:

  • Account structure setup (multi-lab hierarchies, departments, sites)
  • Integration configuration (SSO, Benchling, SciSure, RSpace, API)
  • Training sessions for admins and end users
  • Phased rollout planning for large or multi-site deployments

No professional services fee

There’s no separate implementation fee. Onboarding support is included in the subscription, whether you’re self-serving on Premium or getting hands-on help on Enterprise. Read more about our pricing information.
