How does the Training feature work?
You can use the Training feature to give you greater control over how your users interact with equipment in your lab. When the training feature is turned on, Admins can mark a user as Trained or Untrained on equipment, and this will control whether they can view and book the equipment.
Firstly, the training feature is turned on/off in the lab settings, which is found on the lab dashboard page.
When this is turned on, you will notice some changes in the user settings. You will have a new tab called Training. Here, you can assign which equipment the user is trained on.
Then, in the rules tab on either the individual user, or in access group settings, you will find these two new settings:
This lets you control whether a user should or should not be able to see equipment that they are not trained on.
If you turn on the option that users should have a different booking schedule for equipment they are not trained on, you will find another scheduler on the Schedule tab. This is where you can set the access schedule for equipment that the user is and is not trained on:
With the training feature turned on, you will also be able to see which of your users are trained on an equipment when you view the equipment details page on the Training tab:
Please note, the training feature is not available on the Core subscription.
