How can I get access to the RSpace integration?

To use the Calira integration with RSpace, you need accounts on both platforms and a few configuration steps. This guide walks through the full setup process.

Requirements

  • A Calira account: ELN integrations are available on the Enterprise subscription tier
  • An RSpace Team or Enterprise instance: the integration is not available on RSpace Community edition
  • Your RSpace administrator must have enabled the Calira integration in the RSpace System Configuration panel

Step 1: Enable the integration in RSpace

Your RSpace administrator needs to make the Calira integration available. In RSpace, go to System > Configuration and set the Calira (listed as Clustermarket) integration to Available.

If you are not an RSpace administrator, ask your RSpace admin to enable this for your institution.

Step 2: Connect RSpace to Calira

  1. In RSpace, go to the Apps page
  2. Find the Calira app (may appear as Clustermarket) and click Connect
  3. You will be redirected to a Calira login page — sign in with your Calira credentials
  4. After connecting, you will see a Disconnect button on the Apps page, confirming the connection is active

Step 3: Authorise your labs

After connecting, you need to choose which Calira labs RSpace is allowed to access:

  1. Go to your authorised applications page in Calira
  2. You will see a list of your labs and select the ones you want RSpace to access
  3. Click Authorise

Only bookings from authorised labs will appear when you insert data in RSpace. If you create new labs in Calira later, you will need to repeat this step to include them.

Reconnecting when authorisation expires

Your connection between RSpace and Calira expires periodically. When it does, you will see an error message when trying to insert Calira data into an RSpace document.

To reconnect:

  1. Go to the Apps page in RSpace
  2. Click Disconnect on the Calira app, then click Connect again
  3. Re-authenticate if prompted — in many cases, your existing session will be reused automatically

Troubleshooting

  • The Calira app is not visible in RSpace: ask your RSpace administrator to enable it in System Configuration
  • Error: “Invalid Calira user or client token”: your authorisation has expired. Follow the reconnection steps above
  • Bookings from a specific lab are missing: check that the lab is included in your authorised labs list
