# Can I try Calira before buying?
Yes. Calira offers a few ways to evaluate the platform before committing to a subscription.
### Book a demo

### Free trial
You can sign up and start using Calira with a [free trial period](https://app.clustermarket.com/register). This lets you add your own equipment, invite a few users, and test booking workflows in your real environment before deciding.
### No long-term lock-in
Calira subscriptions are annual, but there’s no multi-year commitment required. If it doesn’t work for your lab, you’re not locked in beyond your current term.
### What happens after the trial?
If you decide to continue, you [choose a plan](https://calira.co/pricing) (Premium or Enterprise for industry; Core, Premium, or Enterprise for academia) and the Calira team helps you transition from trial to live usage without losing any data you’ve already entered.
